Both Mehool and Harshad Sanghrajka have been teaching Jainism in the community at various times. In the North London group, primarily represented by the teachers of Shri Chandna Vidyapith, this has not been a continuous process in comparison to the group in South London where classes have been held regularly on Tuesday evenings for nearly ten years and are continuing regularly.
Adult classes have also been conducted on Friday evenings and one off lectures/discussions are held as and when an opportunity arises. The most recent of these was with the Association of South-West Jains in Crawley on 21st September, 2008 on the occasion of their Svamivatsalya dinner.
It is acknowledged that through these classes, many a ‘Jain’ have become practising Jains and the impact is felt through families to community. Vegetarian and teetotal lifestyle is expected as the basic minimum requirement to be considered to be a Jain.
