BATTERSEA PARK PEACE PAGODA : INTERFAITH PRAYERS FOR PEACE

Members of the IoJ Education Team represented ONE JAIN at the 30th Anniversary celebration of the Battersea Park Peace Pagoda and inter-faith prayers for peace on Sunday 13th June 2015.  The celebration was organised by Nipponzan Miyohoji, the Japanese Buddhist order, which built the Pagoda in 1985. Jainism has been represented at the peace prayers for the last several years.

When the Jain group was announced, Mrs Jyotsna Samji introduced the group as ‘One Jain’ and thanked the organisers for inviting Institute of Jainology to the peace prayers.  Jyotsna gave a brief background to Brihad Shanti Path as a universal prayer for peace.  She introduced Mrs Trushit V Shah, reciting the Sanskrit verses, and Mrs Vibhuti M Mehta, translating in English.

The prayers were well received.
