Journey of Love and Joy

to commemorate The Birth of Bhagwan Mahavir.

A Jain family in Kaula Lampur, Malaysia has been celebrating the Mahavir Janma Kalyanak for the past 17 years in increasing splendour each year and this year will be no different.

It will be celebrated with great pomp and pageantry on Saturday, 12th April 2014 with a rath yatra. The family sponsors the rath yatra as a mark of culmination of  love, respect and reverence for Lord Mahavir and as a dedication of love to their parents.

There is an open and warm  invitation to all to join the family for this joyous event.

It is a commendable effort by the family to promote a major Jain festival not only within the community but within a wider community in foreign lands. Such festivities encourage our younger generation to  participate in the religious activities and at the same time help to widen the awareness of the Jain religion within the wider community.

The family whilst joyously celebrating the Janma Kalyanak, remembers the poor and the sick. Compassion taught by Bhagwan Mahavir is put in to practice and several worthwhile causes are supported as a part of the celebration. The main cause that will be supported this year will be the provision of dental services in a large Malaysian prison in addition to supporting various general charities.

We congratulate the Damani family of Kaula Lumpur for their continuous dedication to Bhagwan Mahavir and their efforts in promoting Jain values  and practicing compassion outside India.
